CME ON RESPIRATORY DISEASES TO BE HELD ON AUGUST 2

A CME (Continuing Medical Education) on Obstructive Sleep Apnea titled "Somnus – Where Sleep Finds Its Breath" will be organized on August 2 under the joint auspices of the Department of Respiratory Diseases at Dr. S.S. Tantia Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, and the UAPM, India.
The Organizing Secretary of the CME, Dr. Piyush Pareek, Assistant Professor and DM in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at the Medical College, informed that several eminent doctors from across the country and state will attend the event. The CME will be held in the Outside Reading Room of the Medical College block.
The chief patrons of the event will be University Chairperson Sunita Tantia, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) M.M. Saxena, Chief Mentor Dr. Vishu Tantia, University Vice Chairperson Dr. Mohit Tantia, and Executive Director K.S. Sukhdev. The organizing committee includes Organizing Chairman Dr. Vijay Sehgal (Principal, Medical College), Dr. H.S. Bindra (Medical Superintendent), Prof. Baljeet Kularia (Chief Administrative Officer, Jan Seva Hospital), Organizing Secretary Dr. Piyush Pareek, Co-Organizing Secretaries Dr. Divya Soin and Dr. Sanjay Solanki. Other team members include Dr. Anurag Yadav, Dr. Ankush Sharma, Dr. Vipin Kumar Yadav, Dr. Abhishek Gupta, Dr. Richa Mishra, Dr. Varsha Chalawariya, and Dr. Meghal Gulati.
In the morning session, Dr. Piyush Pareek will deliver a lecture on the topic "Basics of OSA (Definition and Pathophysiology)." Dr. Shubhankar Nadella from KIMS, Hyderabad will speak on "Diagnosis of OSA." Dr. Rishabh Kochar from Apex Hospital, Bikaner will give a lecture on "OSA Phenotypes." Dr. Ramniwas from AIIMS Bathinda will speak on "OSA – PAP Management." Dr. Yogendra from Vyas Medical College and Hospital, Jodhpur will present on "Non-CPAP, Non-Surgical Management of OSA." Dr. Mahesh Mohta from Dr. S.S. Tantia Medical College will address "Surgical Management of OSA," and Dr. Ankush Sharma will speak on "Psychiatric Co-morbidities Associated with OSA and OHS." Dr. Mehul Agrawal from Apex Hospital, Jaipur will deliver a lecture on "OHS." The second session will feature various workshops. Topics include "Electrode Placement with Bio-calibration," "Interpretation of Polysomnography Reports," and "Hands-on PAP Therapy Devices." These will be conducted by Dr. Mehul Agrawal, Dr. Rishabh Kochar, Dr. Yogendra, Dr. Rahul Jain, and Dr. C.P. Agrawal.
Additionally, there will be quiz and poster competitions with participants from AIIMS Bathinda, Government Medical Colleges of Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh, Surendra Dental College, and Maharaja Ganga Singh Dental College.
